The World Snooker Championship continues in Sheffield. Almost all the matches of the first round of the tournament have been completed there, and already there was a big sensation.

The fifth number of the world ranking, four-time world champion, Mark Selby, in the starting match met the debutant of the tournament, Joe O'Connor (#30 of the world ranking).

The underdog didn't shy away from the 40-year-old legend and won 10:6.

For Selby, this is the third consecutive defeat. In March, he lost in the first round of the World Open to Jackson Page and in early April to Gary Wilson.

Selby has already said he will consider his future in the summer.

Joe O'Connor, 28, made it to the World Championship through qualifying. His next opponent will be the winner of the pairing of Kyren Wilson and Dominic Dale.
