What a half! Barcelona and Atlético trade five goals in first-half thriller
In the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, Barcelona hosted Atlético Madrid, and the opening 45 minutes turned into a spectacular showdown.
Details: Atlético came out firing, scoring twice in the opening six minutes. Juan Álvarez struck in the first minute, and five minutes later, Antoine Griezmann doubled the lead.
However, Barcelona responded swiftly. Pedri pulled one back in the 19th minute, and just two minutes later, Cubarci leveled the score at 2-2. By the 21st minute, four goals had already been scored, but the drama wasn’t over.
As the first half neared its conclusion, Iñigo Martínez put Barcelona ahead, making it 3-2 before the break. A breathtaking half filled with goals and momentum swings.
Reminder: Antoine Griezmann scored against Barcelona for the first time since 2016.
