The saga surrounding Folarin Balogun’s sending-off has now spilled far beyond the football pitch.

Details: According to The Touchline, Donald Trump confirmed that he had contacted FIFA President Gianni Infantino to request a review of the red card given to US national team striker Folarin Balogun.

The American president stated that he personally asked FIFA to revisit the incident, calling Infantino a man he holds in very high regard.

Trump then steered the conversation back to politics, emphasizing that it was he—not Joe Biden—who secured the World Cup for the United States. According to Trump, Biden was "asleep" during this time.

It’s worth noting that FIFA has suspended Balogun’s one-match ban, allowing the forward to feature for the US against Belgium in the World Cup playoffs. The decision has already sparked discontent from the Belgian Football Federation.
