West Ham are planning to unload the wage bill in the summer and get rid of players who do not bring significant value to the team, which may even entail saying goodbye to the Hammers' captain.

The club intend to actively work on the centre-back position, which talkSPORT believes will lead to the sale of team captain Kurt Zouma. The Frenchman has been plagued by knee problems since joining West Ham, which have prevented him from gaining optimum form, prompting the Hammers to say goodbye to him.

Over the past two and a half years, Zouma has spent 159 days in the infirmary, a little over five months, and has missed 27 West Ham matches in that time.

Zouma has previously attracted interest from Saudi clubs, but it is not yet known which club will be the new signing for the 29-year-old defender. What is known is who they want to replace him with: Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabiyo.
