West Ham are exploring the market for defender signings

Despite the closure of the transfer window, it is very early to put an end to the clubs' activity in this market, as there is a large selection of free agents who have not found a new team. And this is what West Ham intend to take advantage of.
‘The Hammers’ have already strengthened the defender position by signing Max Kilman and Jean-Claire Todibo, but according to Sky Sports, they do not intend to stop there and are studying the market of defensive players to sign another player in this line.
Julen Lopetegui's team have settled on two candidates: Joel Matip, who left Liverpool in the summer and Ireland defender John Egan, who was previously a Sheffield United player.
No fewer centre-backs left the Hammers in the summer transfer window: Tilo Kercher and Angelo Ogbonna left West Ham on a permanent basis, while Kurt Zouma and Naif Aguerd went out on loan
