"We're moving in the right direction." Maresca comments on Chelsea's performance this season

Currently, Chelsea is not showing consistent results in the Premier League, but Enzo Maresca still believes that the team is progressing and provided several arguments to support this.

Details: At the pre-match press conference for the Conference League, the Italian stated that for most of the current season, Chelsea has been in the top four, something they haven't achieved in the last two years.

He also mentioned that the team is among the top three defenses after Arsenal and Liverpool, and ranks third or fourth in scoring.

Quote: "In the last two seasons, Chelsea has never been in the top four. We've spent most of this season in the top four. This is proof that we are moving in the right direction. I want to compete for trophies and play in the Champions League, but even this season confirms that we are improving. Is this enough? No. I want more, but we are definitely making progress," said Enzo Maresca.

Currently, Chelsea is in sixth place in the Premier League standings, with 54 points after 32 rounds. The team is just two points behind fourth place with six rounds remaining in the championship.

On Thursday, April 17, the Blues will play the second leg of the UEFA Conference League against Warsaw's Legia. Kick-off is at 21:00 Central European Time. Chelsea won the first match 3-0.

Reminder: It was previously reported that head coach Enzo Maresca still enjoys the trust of the club's management despite a series of poor results.
