FIFA has decided to establish a new task force aimed at improving communication between the organization and players—the Player Welfare Task Force.

Details: FIFA announced that the group will be led by former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger. It will also include representatives from member associations, confederations, FIFPRO, the European Club Association, and the World Leagues Forum.

The primary objective of the group is to explore how to implement effective safeguards for players, considering operational, medical, regulatory, and legal aspects. Additionally, the task force will develop recommendations based on the latest scientific research on players' physical and mental well-being.

The group is set to convene and begin its work in the coming weeks.

Background: FIFA has recently faced criticism over unpaid portions of agreed sums to players across Europe whose contracts were not fulfilled by their clubs.
