Wenger distances himself from Infantino's project! The legendary coach makes a bold statement
FIFA, under the leadership of Infantino, has suffered a crushing blow.
Details: FIFA's Head of Global Football Development and legendary former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger released an official statement following the failure of the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) project, emphasizing that he had no involvement in its development.
"Recent events at FIFA require some clarification from my side," stated the former Arsenal head coach.
Wenger reminded that at FIFA, he is responsible for the global development of football, including match analysis, the operation of the online training center, the growth of a network of 60 football academies in 60 countries, the organization of youth tournaments, and he also serves as a technical consultant to IFAB.
The French specialist also stressed that he did not participate in the preparation of the FFE strategic plan and first learned about it from media reports.
"I was not involved in the development of this strategic plan and first heard about the project from the media," Wenger noted.
He also supported FIFA's decision to abandon the initiative.
"The decision to withdraw the project was absolutely necessary and beyond question, as I firmly believe in an independent FIFA that serves our sport with dedication, transparency, and integrity," Wenger declared.
Thus, one of the most respected football officials in the world has publicly distanced himself from Gianni Infantino's project, which had previously sparked widespread criticism from football confederations and was ultimately officially withdrawn from consideration.
