London Arsenal’s form since the international break has been far from impressive. The Gunners, reduced to ten men, lost to Bournemouth, and in the Champions League, they scraped a hard-fought win against Shakhtar Donetsk. This may have led some Liverpool fans to believe that their trip to London would be a straightforward affair. However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta strongly disagrees.

Details: The Spanish coach acknowledged that he anticipated a drop in form, pointing out that several of his players had long-haul flights to and from Latin America, meaning they needed time to regain peak condition. He emphasized that they would be ready for the Liverpool match.

Quote: “We played two nights ago with players coming back from Brazil and other countries. I expected some drop-off. The fact that we put so much effort into the first half and didn’t convert our dominance into goals, I think we paid for that a little.

Then we made life difficult for ourselves, giving the ball away in areas where we shouldn't, making the game more open. That didn’t help. But we have four more days. Trust me, on Sunday, we will be flying,” Arteta stated at a press conference.

Reminder: Arsenal will be without William Saliba for the Liverpool match, as the club decided not to appeal his red card from the Bournemouth game, meaning he will serve a suspension for the clash against Arne Slot’s side.
