"We spoke for more than two hours". Hansi Flick apologised to Xavi
Hansi Flick replaced Xavi as Barcelona’s head coach, and the Spaniard has now revealed that the two had a conversation.
Details: As Xavi himself told La Vanguardia, Barcelona had been negotiating with Flick behind Hernández’s back for several weeks. The Spaniard himself was not told what was happening.
Quote: “Hansi Flick came to apologise when I asked him whether the club had really been speaking with him while I was still the coach… During those two or three weeks when the club had already decided to get rid of me, but no one told me about it to my face”, Xavi stated.
However, the two coaches eventually met and spoke. There is no conflict between them, and Xavi wished him the very best going forward.
Quote: “Flick apologised, we spoke for more than two hours, it was fantastic. The club told him not to tell me anything, and that is why he came to my house to apologise. He is a good man, very noble, and I am happy that things are going well for him”, Xavi added.
Xavi also stated that Messi will not return to Camp Nou because Joan Laporta does not want it, not because of La Liga.
Reminder: Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick used the opportunity during the post-match press conference after the clash with Athletic Bilbao to clarify the situation surrounding his most discussed tactical feature.
