“We need to think about life after football,” says Andrée Onana, looking ahead to his retirement
The Cameroonian goalkeeper says it is essential to start preparing for a career change now.
Andre Onana isn’t just thinking about his performances on the pitch. The Cameroonian international is looking ahead to life after football and wants to use the coming years to prepare for his transition to a new career.
In an interview with Sports News Africa, Onana outlined his vision for the future. Aware that a footballer’s career is limited in duration, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has already drawn up a detailed plan.
“At 30, you have to think about life after football. Our careers are short; you have to be sensible and manage your money well. Starting next year, I’m going to enrol on a business management training programme. I’d really like to succeed in business.”
