"We need to show resilience". Ten Hag keeps his spirits up after Tottenham defeat
In the 6th round of the Premier League, Manchester United suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.
United's head coach, Erik ten Hag, believes his team can overcome this setback.
Quote: "I don’t want to talk about progress after such a defeat. We need to handle this, show resilience, but it’s not the time to discuss progress today.
Right now, we’re simply focused on Porto. We’ll finish with this game, analyze it, and then move on. I told the players in the locker room, ‘Come on, tomorrow is a new day.’
We definitely need to learn, to do things better. We must improve our pressing, improve our play with the ball, because there were situations where we could have played better, found the spare man, or played through the press to retain possession and play from there.
We started the game poorly. Tottenham dominated, we couldn’t get the press right, and we made too many mistakes in possession. But we could have come back, and I think the red card changed the course of the game." ten Hag said.
Reminder: After this loss to Spurs, Manchester United dropped to 12th place in the Premier League standings, with 7 points from 6 matches.
