“We are a team with little experience.” Busquets shares expectations ahead of the Club World Cup

The revamped Club World Cup is about to kick off, and Inter Miami will be among the contenders. On the eve of the tournament, one of the Herons’ leaders, Sergio Busquets, shared his expectations.
Details: In an interview with AS, the holding midfielder admitted that Inter Miami lacks extensive experience in such competitions but emphasized the team’s excitement to take part in the tournament.
Quote: “We are a team with little experience in these kinds of tournaments, but we are very happy. On a personal level, I’m pleased to have been able to win trophies at both club and national level.
As I’ve said before, the word ‘World Cup’ itself carries a lot of weight—it means a great deal to any player, especially to take part in matches and tournaments of this magnitude. We understand that after the group stage, which offers a brief respite, the knockout rounds begin against the world’s best clubs or national teams, if we’re talking about the World Cup.
That’s why it’s crucial to stay fully focused, be a strong unit, have the necessary experience and, above all, a bit of luck—because sometimes, without it, you go nowhere,” Busquets noted.
Reminder: Inter Miami will open the tournament with a match against Egypt’s Al Ahly. Their group also features Porto and Palmeiras.
