WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has endorsed the idea of organizing a fight between Anthony Joshua and the winner of the two bouts between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury and Usyk are set to meet for the first time on May 18th in Saudi Arabia in a battle for all heavyweight belts, followed by an anticipated rematch expected to take place in the fall of this year.

"The WBC was presented a sanction request which was to fight for the undisputed. The WBC accepted that sanctioning and we accepted the rematch they have requested. But, if it is not anything to do with contractual or promotion, we would absolutely accept the winner to fight Joshua.

The WBC has been very much attentive to this matter. So we have completely freed the ground for the undisputed, for a rematch, and for another fight of that level.” Sulaiman told Sky Sports.

On the night of March 9th, Joshua easily defeated Francis Ngannou at a boxing event in Riyadh. The referee stopped the match in the second round after yet another knockdown of the Cameroonian.
