“Wayne Bridge inspired me”: Former Aston Villa defender Ahmed Elmohamady undergoes hair transplant
Former Egypt national team captain Ahmed Elmohamady decided to tackle a common issue faced by many footballers. According to The Sun, the Egyptian underwent a hair transplant procedure.
Elmohamady opted for advanced direct hair implantation (DHI) to address thinning areas on his scalp at the DHI Global clinic near Harley Street.
"I had the hair transplant because I wanted to boost my confidence. I have been suffering from hair loss for the past five years and I just felt it would give me a bit of a boost to get it sorted," Elmohamady explained.
The Egyptian also revealed that his inspiration for the procedure came from his former Sunderland teammate Wayne Bridge. In September, Bridge underwent a similar hair transplant procedure at the same clinic.
Elmohamady retired in 2021 while playing for Aston Villa. He also earned 88 caps for the Egypt national team, winning the Africa Cup of Nations twice during his career.
