"Watch out for this team": Crespo's warning about the Club World Cup

The legendary former striker Hernán Crespo analyzed the upcoming Club World Cup and expressed optimism about the chances of a particular team that might surprise more than a few. The former striker, with a distinguished career in South America and Europe, hinted that this club should not be underestimated. "Watch out for them...", he warned.
"Everyone would say that Inter is superior, but River is River. Watch out for River because they can, I won't say pull off a surprise because they are great teams, but anything can happen," he assured.
In statements to ESPN, Crespo acknowledged the difficulty of the tournament but highlighted that the competition format can open up unexpected opportunities.
"It's difficult, two big clubs face each other and when that happens, anything can happen. It's logical to think that the European team is superior because they buy the best players from South America. But this is a tournament with a group stage, there are results that can change the scenario and anything is possible," he explained.
The former goal scorer, key in the Libertadores that River Plate won in 1996 and with a past at Inter Milan, Chelsea, and other teams, views the South American squad's chances favorably. He also recalled a key factor:
"Logic says the Europeans are favorites, but they arrive at the end of their season, while the South Americans are in full competition," he noted.
Without a team after his stint at Al Ain, Crespo also reaffirmed his desire to one day coach the club where he was trained.
"I would love to be there in the future, but I don't see an imminent return to Argentine football. I still want to keep experiencing the world," he concluded.
