Was he drunk? Police investigate Michail Antonio's car crash
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the car crash involving West Ham star forward Michail Antonio, reports The Sun. Authorities are working to determine the causes behind the dramatic incident.
Preliminary findings suggest that no third parties were involved in the accident. Police have also ruled out alcohol or illicit substance use as contributing factors.
"There is no smoking gun as far as cops are concerned right now - but they have to investigate because the smash was so serious and caused such extensive injuries. Just because cops are involved doesn’t mean a crime has been committed," a source told The Sun.
Skid marks at the scene indicate that Antonio's car veered off the road before the collision. Officers have requested footage from a dashcam to understand the events leading up to the crash.
The driver’s side of the vehicle was severely damaged during the incident, and Antonio was thrown onto the passenger seat upon impact. The player is currently in the hospital, recovering from a broken leg.
