War Between Boca Legends: Tevez and Riquelme’s Rift Deepens

The tension between Carlos Tevez and Juan Román Riquelme has reached a point of no return. Two of Boca Juniors' most iconic figures in recent history are experiencing a rift that seems irreversible. Statements from Adrián Rouco, Tevez's representative, made it clear that there is no room for reconciliation.

“It is impossible for Tevez to manage Boca while the current administration is in place,” Rouco stated, according to El Futbolero.

This strong statement confirms what many had suspected: as long as Riquelme remains in charge of the club, the ‘Apache’ will not return in any role. Since Tevez’s departure from the club in 2021, various factors have contributed to escalating the tensions between both sides.

Moreover, Planeta Boca Juniors recalled that this is not the first time Carlitos has criticized the current management. At the end of 2024, Tevez had been very direct:

“I do not identify with those in charge. This management hit us hard when we didn't perform well in the Libertadores,” he commented to the media.

At the time, in an interview with TyC Sports, the current coach did not hesitate to express his concern for the Xeneize's situation and made statements that further fueled the controversy.
