The Ghanaians finished top of Group B ahead of the Nigerians.
The group stage of the WAFU B qualifying tournament for the CAF Women’s Champions League concluded on Sunday 30 August. In Group B, the clash between Ampem Darkoa of Ghana and EDO Queens of Nigeria lived up to all expectations.
But when the final whistle blew, it was the Ghanaian champions who emerged victorious with a 2–1 win over the Nigerians. This crucial victory saw Ampem Darkoa finish top of Group B with 9 points. Both teams had two wins each going into their final-day clash.
But the Ghanaians’ victory proved decisive in the standings. Although Ampem Darkoa finished the group stage at the top of the table, both teams had already secured their places in the semi-finals. EDO Queens had secured their place thanks to their two wins on the first two matchdays.
