Mali midfielder Aïssata Traoré has expressed confidence in her team's ambitions after their dramatic 3-2 victory over Cape Verde at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Woman of the Match winner, who played a key role in Mali's victory with two assists, believes the team has what it takes to compete with the best sides in Africa and challenge for the continental title.
