WAFCON 2026: three teams have already qualified for the quarter-finals

Cameroon, Morocco and Algeria have secured their places for the knockout stage of the tournament being held in Morocco.

The group stage of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is drawing to a close. It entered its third matchday on Monday 3 August.

Following the third and final matches in Group A, two teams have secured their places in the next round of the competition. They are Morocco and Algeria.

The Atlas Lionesses finished top of the group with 7 points after two wins and a draw in the group stage. For their part, Algeria qualified for the quarter-finals after finishing second in Group A. The Algerian women recorded two wins and suffered one defeat, amassing 6 points at the end of the group stage.

Cameroon secured their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on the second day of the group stage. The Indomitable Lionesses topped Group D with two wins from two matches.
