WAFCON 2026: the semi-final line-up is now complete
The competition’s last four promise some thrilling clashes.
The quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations concluded on Sunday 9 August with a mix of surprises and expected results. At the end of this decisive stage, four nations secured their places in the semi-finals of the competition.
They are Morocco, Algeria, Cameroon and Malawi. The Atlas Lionesses knocked out South Africa to reach the semi-finals. The Fennecs saw off Ivory Coast, whilst the Indomitable Lionesses toppled the defending champions, Nigeria. Newcomers Malawi, who are enjoying a historic run in the tournament, knocked out Ghana to reach the last four.
In the semi-finals, Morocco will face Cameroon. This clash is scheduled for 12 August at 8 pm GMT.
The second semi-final will see Algeria take on Malawi on 12 August at 5 pm GMT.
