WAFCON 2026: the fixtures for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup play-offs revealed

Having been knocked out in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Ghana will now battle it out for a place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Brazil in 2027. The four African women’s teams will face off in play-offs on 13 August in Morocco.
The Super Falcons will take on the Banyana Banyana on Thursday 13 August at 8 pm GMT in the play-off for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Both nations, no strangers to the international stage, will have to give their all to keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.
The second play-off will see Ivory Coast take on Ghana. This West African derby promises to be a thrilling encounter between the Elephants and the Black Queens. The match is scheduled for 13 August at 5 pm GMT.
