WAFCON 2026: the first quarter-final fixtures are known
A clash between Morocco and South Africa, with Ivory Coast taking on Algeria.
The quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations are taking shape. Two fixtures have already been confirmed for this knockout stage of the tournament.
Ivory Coast, who finished top of Group B, already know their quarter-final opponents. The Elephants will face Algeria in this decisive stage of the competition.
The Ivorian side enjoyed a near-flawless run in the group stage, securing two wins and one draw. For their part, Algeria qualified by finishing second in Group A. The Algerian team recorded two wins and suffered one defeat.
The second quarter-final fixture will see host nation Morocco take on South Africa. The Atlas Lionesses topped Group A with two wins and a draw to finish first in their group. As for the Banyana Banyana, they secured their place in the quarter-finals by finishing second in Group B.
The South Africans suffered one defeat, drew one match and secured one victory in the group stage. The quarter-finals will be played on 8 and 9 August.
