WAFCON 2026: Michelle Alozie Undergoes Doping Test After Winning Woman of the Match in Nigeria’s Victory Over Zambia
Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie underwent a routine post-match doping test after being named the official Woman of the Match in Nigeria's hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zambia at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Alozie delivered an outstanding performance as the Super Falcons secured a crucial win despite playing much of the match with 10 players following Tosin Demehin's first-half red card.
Alozie confirmed she underwent the doping test while speaking in an interview with CAF-accredited journalist Isemuan.
The process meant Alozie remained at the stadium long after most of her teammates had left, making her one of the last people to depart the venue.
Alozie's impressive display earned widespread praise as Nigeria bounced back from their opening defeat to Malawi, keeping their hopes of reaching the WAFCON knockout stages firmly alive.
