WAFCON 2026: Harambee Starlets Stage Protest Over Unpaid Allowances Ahead of Morocco Tournament
Kenya's Harambee Starlets have staged a protest over unpaid allowances, delaying the team's departure for a training camp ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The players gathered at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Goal Project offices in Kasarani, Nairobi, where they demanded the immediate payment of outstanding dues before agreeing to travel.
According to reports, the squad refused to leave for the airport, insisting that their long-standing financial concerns be resolved first.
The Harambee Starlets were scheduled to travel to Miramas, France, for a residential training camp as part of their preparations for the 2026 WAFCON.
The tournament will be held in Morocco from July 26 to August 16.
