The governing body of Senegalese football cites a naturalisation issue.
This Monday 20 July, head coach Mame Moussa Cisse unveiled the squad of 26 Senegalese players selected for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations. However, some players who took part in the pre-tournament training camp will not be travelling to Morocco.
Mikaela Bottega, Mariama Deen Toure, Aminata Keita and Mady Soumare have withdrawn and will not compete in the tournament, which is scheduled to take place from 25 July to 16 August. According to the Senegalese Football Federation, the absence of these four players is due to their naturalisation procedures not having been finalised by the deadline set by the Confederation of African Football.
