WAFCON 2026: Cameroon Beat Host Nation Morocco on Penalties to Reach Fourth Final

Cameroon have booked their place in the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations final after overcoming hosts Morocco in a tense penalty shootout following a 0-0 draw in Rabat.

The semi-final at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium proved to be a battle of patience, with neither team able to find the decisive goal across 120 minutes.

Morocco enjoyed spells of control and looked to make their possession count, but Cameroon's defence remained compact and dealt with the hosts' attacking threat effectively.

With the score still level after extra time, the tie had to be settled from the penalty spot.

Cameroon handled the pressure better, converting the decisive opportunities to secure a 3-1 shootout victory and send the hosts out of the competition.

The result sees Cameroon return to the WAFCON final for the fourth time. They will now face Malawi in the final after the Scorchers produced another historic result by beating Algeria 3-1 in the other semi-final.
