WAFCON 2026: Barbra Banda tops the goalscoring charts after the group stage

Several forwards stood out for their clinical finishing during the first round of the tournament, which is taking place in Morocco.

However, Zambia’s elimination at the group stage could deal a blow to Barbra Banda’s hopes of winning the tournament’s top scorer title. Behind the Zambian striker, three players are tied for second place with three goals each.

Ivory Coast’s Inès Konan has found the net three times in three group stage matches. Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga also has three goals from three matches. Finally, Cameroon’s Marie Gisele Ngah completes this trio with three goals in as many matches.
