Vinicius equals Ronaldo: Real's top Brazilian goalscorer
Vinicius Junior has become the top Brazilian goalscorer in Real Madrid's history, equaling Ronaldo's tally of goals for the club. He achieved this milestone during the 30th round of La Liga against Valencia, scoring his 104th goal for the Madrid club.
This moment was special for Vinicius. The goal allowed him to reach the same number as the legendary forward Ronaldo, who played for Real from 2002 to 2007. Vinicius thanked Ronaldo for his support, noting that he was his idol and mentor when he joined the team at the age of 18.
Vinicius Junior joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, transferring from Flamengo, and since then has become an integral part of the team. Over 303 matches across all competitions, he has scored 104 goals. In contrast, Ronaldo, who played for Los Blancos for just five years, also scored the same number of goals, but in 177 appearances.
After the match, Vinicius noted that despite the significant achievement, the game was unsuccessful as the team lost to Valencia. He emphasized that despite the disappointing defeat, Real Madrid always strives for victories and never gives up. The forward assured fans that the team will fight to the end, and in the next match in London, they will try to turn the situation around.
