Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres is the biggest star at Sporting Lisbon, but his career could have taken a very different path.
Details: Brest sporting director Grégory Lorenzi revealed that his club was interested in signing Gyökeres in 2022, when he was still playing for Coventry City.
Quote:
"Gyökeres’ agent told me that we were the only club interested in him back when he was at Coventry. We offered €4-5 million, but Coventry demanded €8 million."
In his first season at Coventry, the Swedish striker scored 17 goals in the Championship.
Reminder: Earlier, reports suggested that Newcastle is considering Gyökeres as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak.
