On the 20th of December, a match was held for the 18th round of the Second League in Turkey's White Group between Bursaspor and Diyarbakırspor. The game concluded with a score of 2-0 in favor of the guests.

In the added time after the regular 90 minutes, a mass brawl erupted on the field involving personnel from both clubs. The referee expelled five players during the melee.

This incident is not the first scandal in Turkey in recent times. On December 11th, the president of the Ankara Gücü club struck the referee in the eye. It has also recently been reported that after a match in the amateur league between Kumçatıspsor and Cizre Diclespor, players from the first team engaged in a physical altercation with the main referee of the match.
