A highly unusual goal was scored last night in the 1st round match of the Copa Libertadores group stage between Venezuelan club Deportivo Tachira and Argentine club River Plate.

River Plate was considered the clear favorite of the match but struggled to score for a long time. Ultimately, in the 72nd minute during an attack by the Argentinians, a Deportivo Tachira defender attempted to clear the ball from the penalty area but accidentally hit it directly into the face of River Plate's defender Sebastian Bocelli. The shot was so powerful that it flew into the goal from his face, leaving no chance for the goalkeeper.

As a result, Martin Demichelis's team won with a score of 2-0.
