Saudi Arabia plans to build a stadium 650 feet above the ground, located on the edge of a cliff. The project could cost around 1 billion dollars.
Details. The new stadium is planned to be built in the city of Qiddiya, on the outskirts of Riyadh. The stadium will become one of the most unusual in the world, located 650 feet above the ground. This is a central element of Saudi Arabia's bid to host the largest sporting event in the Middle East in 2034.
The renowned architectural firm Populous states that the exterior of the new stadium will be “formed by a collection of modular cubes that serve as an extension of the Tuwaiq cliffs, framed by portals that look into the future of the city.”

Reminder. Saudi Arabia has indeed won the right to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. In the FIFA report, Saudi Arabia's bid received 4.2 out of 5 points, and the overall technical score of 419.8 became the highest ever awarded to a potential host.
