In yesterday's 12th round of the Premier League, Newcastle suffered a sensational defeat against the season's underdog, Bournemouth (0-2).

After the match, Newcastle's defender Kieran Trippier was observed engaging in a heated exchange with one of the fans in the stands. The player and the supporter discussed the team's "forty" game in escalated tones, with Trippier rhetorically questioning the fan about the number of injuries the team has, alluding to the substantial player count in the team's infirmary. Eventually, his teammate, Joelinton, had to lead him away from the stands.

In a conversation with Sky Sports after the game, the 33-year-old footballer explained that he understands such emotional behavior from fans, but stressed that their team is giving its all.

"Fans, of course, are emotional. They've come a long way and spend a lot of money to come and watch us. I was simply conversing, speaking with one of them. I said we're giving everything we've got. But there's no need to panic. We're still in a good position in the league, still in the Champions League, in the League Cup quarter-finals. There's no need to panic. Yes, we were beaten, and we apologize for that result, but the most important thing is the guys are giving their all. In the circumstances, we're giving more than we can."

Newcastle's coach, Eddie Howe, already has star players like Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak in the infirmary, and in yesterday's match, Miguel Almiron and Fabian Schar had to leave the field due to knee ligament injuries.
