East Asia has one less huge historic stadium from today.

Details: Malaysia has demolished the Shah Alam Stadium, which was home to the country's national team for decades. The arena was one of the largest in the world, as it had a capacity of as many as 80,000 fans.

Footage of the demolition process of this big stadium has hit the net.

In place of Shah Alam, the Malaysian government will build a new modern arena, but it will have a capacity of 45,000. The new stadium will also be the home ground for local club Selangor.

It is expected that the construction of the new stadium will take about a year.

Recall: The Malaysian national team failed to make it to the Third Round of qualification for the World Cup 2026.
