On January 12th, a match from the 17th round of the Bundesliga took place between Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim, concluding with a 3-0 victory for the Munich side.

Goals for the hosts were scored by Jamal Musiala (18, 70) and Harry Kane (90). In the 74th minute, the referee sent off Grischa Prömel from the visiting team.

Before the start of the match, Bayern Munich paid tribute to the club legend Franz Beckenbauer, who passed away on January 8th at the age of 78. The German champions took the field wearing shirts with the inscription "Danke Franz," meaning "Thank you, Franz."

On advertising boards and the stadium scoreboard, photos of Beckenbauer and the same inscription "Danke Franz" were displayed. Before the kick-off, both teams also honored Beckenbauer's memory with a minute of silence.

In the match against Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich set a new Bundesliga record by scoring in their 65th consecutive home game.

Notably, Leroy Sané provided assists for Musiala twice during the match. Sané became the first player among all players in the top-7 European leagues to achieve 10+ assists.
