Juventus have lost a hefty sum.
Details: According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, 40-year-old Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has today won his court case against his former club Juventus and will receive approximately €9.7 million from the Turin side.
This legal dispute, widely known as the “Cristiano Ronaldo case,” had been ongoing since 2021 and was only officially resolved today in Ronaldo's favor.
The Turin labor court rejected Juventus’ 2024 appeal after the club had been ordered to pay Ronaldo €9.7 million in compensation for a contract signed during his time at Juve.
Back in 2021, Juventus’ previous management had agreed with Ronaldo that the Portuguese star would receive €19.5 million as gross salary, but this amount was never reflected in the club’s financial statements. Juventus argued this made the agreement invalid. However, the judge saw things differently, and now the Bianconeri are required to cover all legal costs in addition to paying Ronaldo €9.7 million.
Ronaldo played for Juventus from 2018 to 2021, making 134 appearances, scoring 101 goals, and providing 73 assists for the Turin giants.
