A new club record was set by Aston Villa this evening.

Details: Following a narrow 1-0 away win over French side Lille in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16, Aston Villa’s 54-year-old head coach Unai Emery has forever etched his name into the club’s history books.

This victory marked a milestone—the 100th win for Emery as Aston Villa boss, making him the first manager in club history to reach the century mark in just 181 matches.

No other Aston Villa manager has ever achieved 100 wins in such a short span of time.

Unai Emery took charge of Aston Villa in 2022. Under his command, the team has played 181 matches, recording 32 draws, 49 defeats, and—as previously mentioned—100 wins!

His current contract with Aston Villa runs until the summer of 2029.

Reminder: Unai Emery could take charge of Real Madrid as early as this summer. The players who may leave the club if he arrives have been revealed
