Victor Osimhen explains why he chose Galatasaray
One of the top Nigerian footballers of today, Victor Osimhen, revealed that he had been planning to leave Napoli for some time but was waiting until January to make the move. What changed his mind was a call from Galatasaray's coach, Okan Buruk.
The main reason for Osimhen's sudden transfer was his desire to take control of his own destiny, rather than being dictated by the club's decisions.
"[The coach] told me what he wanted to achieve this season and what his goals were. I saw the objectives he set for himself as a person, a coach, and a father. I believe I fit into that plan, and joining a team already filled with quality players with big ambitions made the decision easy for me as a footballer."
Osimhen has already scored two goals for his new team in a match against Kasımpaşa.
Currently, he is recovering from a muscle injury but is expected to return to action within a few weeks, according to reports.
