Switzerland is just one step away from their first victory at this World Cup.
Details: In today’s World Cup match between Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina, an unfortunate incident unfolded as Bosnian defender Tarik Muhamerovic was sent off.
A rapid Swiss attack saw Embolo break free on goal, but Muhamerovic lunged in with a reckless sliding tackle from behind, which the referee immediately judged as a last-man foul.
Fortunately for Bosnia, Muhamerovic’s foul occurred outside the penalty area, so instead of a spot-kick, Switzerland was awarded a free kick—which they failed to convert.
This marks the fourth red card of this World Cup.
