At the Paris Olympics, the medal final in the men's hammer throw took place.

The gold medal in the discipline was claimed by Canadian Ethan Katzberg. With a result of 84.12 meters, he left no chance for his competitors.

Katzberg was close to breaking his personal record of 84.38 meters, set earlier this year in Nairobi.

The silver medal was won by Bence Halász of Hungary (79.97 meters). The bronze medal went to Mykhaylo Kokhan of Ukraine (79.39 meters).

Notably, this is the first Olympic gold for the 22-year-old Canadian.

In 2023, Katzberg became the world champion in Budapest, setting a new national record. That victory made Ethan not only the youngest men's world champion in hammer throw but also the youngest medalist in the event.
