Venus Williams comments for the first time on rumors of Serena's possible tennis comeback
For the first time since a recent wave of rumors about Serena Williams possibly returning to professional tennis, her sister Venus has spoken out on the subject. The speculation was sparked when Serena's name appeared on the list of athletes undergoing mandatory doping tests for tournament participation.
Fans immediately began talking about her possible comeback, and now Venus Williams, who continues to compete on the WTA Tour and played this season at the Washington Open, Cincinnati Open, and US Open, has publicly addressed the question for the first time.
I can only speak for myself. What I know is this—I can't drag her onto the court. She's not training,
the elder Williams sister told The Tennis Gazette.
Just a reminder, Serena ended her career after the 2022 US Open, saying she wanted to step away from the sport and start a new chapter in her life.
