Francis Uzoho has expressed his happiness after returning to the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, calling the recall a special moment. The Omonoia goalkeeper, who had been out of the team following a spell of errors, was recalled after Maduka Okoye was left out of the squad.

Uzoho was the first player to arrive at the team’s camp in Cairo, with Stanley Nwabali joining later as preparations began. Reflecting on his absence, he said, “I missed the boys… I missed the vibe in the camp…”.

He added that the togetherness mattered most, saying he was “I was filled with a joy that I cannot actually express…”. Uzoho stressed his readiness, “Anybody that is called up into the national team is ready… So basically, I am ready”.
