Usyk reveals symbolism behind training gear ahead of Fury rematch

In preparation for the highly anticipated rematch against Tyson Fury, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk and his team received specially designed training outfits from Ready to Fight, featuring meaningful symbols tied to Usyk's personal story and his homeland, Ukraine, reports Daily Mail.

The training gear is purple, the favorite color of Usyk's late father. The outfits also showcase Ukraine's coat of arms and chestnut leaves, with 25 leaves symbolizing the country's 25 regions, including Crimea.

The design includes clusters of viburnum berries, symbolizing Usyk’s boxing achievements. Twenty-two berries at the top represent his 22 victories, while 14 at the bottom signify the number of knockouts he has delivered in his career.

The ensemble is further adorned with the traditional Crimean Tatar pattern "Ornek," paying homage to the boxer’s birthplace, Simferopol, in Crimea.

The rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is set to take place on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This fight follows their first bout in May, where Usyk emerged victorious.
