Ukrainian world heavyweight champion under the WBC, WBA, and IBF versions, Oleksandr Usyk, has confirmed his intention to face American Deontay Wilder in 2026. The boxer made this statement during a boxing night held in Riyadh on December 27.

I'll step into the ring next year. I want to fight the 'Bronze Bomber'," Usyk said succinctly, answering questions from journalists.

Earlier, it was reported that the American boxer has already accepted Usyk's challenge, and both camps are in negotiations. The 40-year-old Wilder himself is going through a tough period in his career: he has suffered four defeats in his last six fights.

Recall, Usyk delivered a spectacular knockout against Daniel Dubois in the fifth round in July, becoming the undisputed world champion for the third time in his career.
