USL Championship Week 12 Recap: Charleston stretches its lead, Orange County shines, and New Mexico keeps pace


Charleston Battery remains unstoppable. The league leaders secured their seventh straight win with a 3-1 road victory over Detroit City. Cal Jennings scored twice and leads the Golden Boot race, while Juan David Torres delivered a goal, an assist, and a dominant all-around performance. Charleston now boasts 21 goals in that winning stretch.
In the West, New Mexico United crushed Oakland 3-0 and continues to climb, while El Paso Locomotive stayed second with a 2-1 win in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Orange County SC once again showcased their Jekyll-and-Hyde nature: a vibrant attack produced a 3-1 win over Colorado Springs, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Elsewhere, Louisville extended its unbeaten run to ten with a 2-0 away win at Monterey Bay, and Pittsburgh secured a narrow win in Rhode Island thanks to a Danny Griffin goal on his 150th appearance. Birmingham came from behind to beat Miami 2-1 on the road, while Lexington and Tampa Bay drew 1-1, prolonging the Rowdies' winless streak to seven.
