Tragic news has emerged from Uruguay, where the life of 32-year-old forward Matías Acuña has come to an untimely end.
Details: According to El Pais, Acuña was found dead today in a hotel room in Montevideo.
The initial statement from police indicates suicide as the cause of death.
Reports suggest that in recent months, Acuña had been under investigation, accused of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend.
The last club of Acuña’s career was Ecuadorian side Mushuc Runa. In Uruguay, he played for clubs such as Liverpool Montevideo, Fénix, Rentistas, Boston River, and several others. He also had stints in Greece with Lamia and Larissa.
