The Masters event in Rome has recently concluded, and all attention is now turning to one of the biggest tournaments in world tennis — Wimbledon Championships. However, one of the sport’s biggest stars will not be there.

Details: Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from two tournaments set to take place soon in England: the Queen's Club Championships and Wimbledon Championships.

Quote: “My recovery is going according to plan, and I am feeling much better, but unfortunately, I am still not ready to compete, so I have to withdraw from the grass-court tournaments at Queen’s and Wimbledon. These are two truly special tournaments for me, and I will miss them greatly. We are continuing to work hard to return as soon as possible,” Alcaraz wrote.

As a reminder: Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has etched his name in gold in the annals of world sport.
