Due to heavy spending in recent transfer windows, the Blues risk a significant financial deficit if they miss Europe’s top competition, potentially forcing the club to offload several players. One of the main candidates for departure is midfielder Enzo Fernández.
His chances of leaving have increased following his recent comments about wanting a move to Real Madrid and the ensuing conflict, which will see the Argentine miss two matches, including Sunday’s clash with Manchester City.
Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation and have long admired the midfielder’s talent, making a summer switch increasingly likely.
In the 2025/26 season, Fernández made 46 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists. Transfermarkt currently values the player at €90 million.
